1.First you need to take the piece of furniture you want to whitewash and sand it down. 2.You then need to mix in a container, one parts water to two parts white latex paint. You’ll need a 3-inch brush and bowl of fresh water to wipe off mistakes. Using long sweeping strokes, brush over the wood following the grain. The paint will naturally soak right into the wood so you’ll need to give each patch a number of coats.
3.when the whole item is covered in paint and just before its managed to dry, take a clean cloth to it and wipe until you see the grain again. This will make the wood appear like it has a light stain and if you want a thicker more weathered look, simply repeat the previous steps to build up the layer.
4.When you achieve a look that you are happy with, give the wood another light sanding down to expose the grain and and then seal the wood using a satin clear polyurethane. let the substance dry before taking an abrasive nylon pad to it and rubbing gently over it.
